UmmikuSayang Charity Team: Ramadhan 1430H

On behalf of UmmikuSayang, I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to Yeanti, Elly, Zarina and other volunteers of the UkS Charity Team who have helped make our "Say it with Cupcakes & Serunding" Ramadhan Charity drive a success alhamdulillah. May Allah reward you for your efforts.

Also, on behalf of the team, THANK YOU to all of you who have contributed in one way or another to the charity drive - either by donating, or buying the cupcakes & serunding, by volunteering your time or even by sending out the email to others, and not forgetting, for your constant doa for the success of the event.

Alhamdulillah, as Yeanti mentioned last week, we exceeded our target. Last weekend, Hani & I joined the team to distribute the cash, cupcakes, serunding and cookies from all of you to various homes. It was a heart-warming experience. Thank you to Yeanti & gang for including UmmikuSayang as one of your platform to do this noble activity.

We hope that we can do more for them and other needy children in the future and that more will join us, insya Allah.

Delivering Gifts to Moms @ UMMC 24th May 2008

On Saturday 24th May 2008, eight ladies from UmmikuSayang and WENA delivered 50 sets of gifts for the mothers tending to their children at the Pediatric Oncology Ward and PICU at University Malaya Medical Centre in PJ. The gifts were sponsored by members of UmmikuSayang and their friends. It was painful to see the young children suffering yet some managed to put up a smile when we handed them the gifts. Berat mata memandang, berat lagi bahu memikul.

A big THANK YOU to all that made the event possible and helped bring some cheer to the mothers this Mother's Day month.

Give-A-Gift Campaign for Mothers at Hospitals

A few years ago, we did a charity gift collection to give to mothers
who were tending to their sick children at hospitals. We collected gifts
from members and packed them into gift bags
and distributed them to the moms at the hospitals. It was a
heart-warming and touching event, to see the surprise on the mothers'
faces when they receive gifts for them, instead of their children.



This year, we want to do something similar in May. Instead of
focusing only on us as mothers, we would like to extend our care and
love to other mothers who have sacrificed their time to tend for their
children at the hospitals.

We have gathered items to put in the gift pack worth RM50. We are now
looking for sponsors to buy those gifts for us to distribute to the mothers.

We are in the midst of finalising the hospital and numbers. Will update
the info here as soon as we get the confirmation.
